Cannabis sativa, one of two main strains of marijuana, is widely used as a medicine and a recreational drug. While modern medicine doesn’t hold it up to such high importance, the herb has been used for over 5,000 years. This gives one an idea of just how important it is in many cultures and its as yet not-fully-tapped potential.
Heightened levels of clarity
Cannabis sativa is a strain that produces potent effects. Users typically experience more clarity with common examples being hearing new melodies in songs they never noticed and watching reruns of movies with a new eye.
Reduces nausea and is uplifting
Medically, cannabis sativa is said to reduce nausea that occurs during chemotherapy treatment and that which accompanies different diseases. The effects are said to be uplifting and energizing and even facilitates creativity. As such, it’s most often prescribed for daytime use.
As a relaxant and pain reliever
Cannabis sativa relaxes the muscles which makes it appropriate for people suffering from arthritic pain. It also helps with migraines and headaches.
This is not to say that using cannabis sativa will make depression a dream but people with a known history of the condition as well as those currently suffering from severe depression may stand to benefit from this strain of cannabis.
